Terms of Service

These terms are the agreement between you and NovaLedger Pro ("NovaLedger", "we"), operated by Corwin Hendy (Hustle & Budget). By creating an account, you agree to them.

What NovaLedger is

NovaLedger Pro is online bookkeeping software for business owners: record transactions, send invoices, track inventory and payroll, and get plain-English insights about your business. Plans are Starter ($15/mo), Growth ($29/mo), and Scale ($59/mo).

Free trial

New accounts get a 14-day free trial with full access. No card required to start. If you don't subscribe before the trial ends, your account switches to read-only — your data stays, but you can't add new records until you subscribe.

Billing & cancellation

• Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance through Stripe.
• Cancel anytime from the Billing view or by emailing nova@novaledgerpro.com. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you keep access until then.
• We don't do partial-month refunds (see Refund Policy).
• If a payment fails, we'll retry and notify you. After the grace period, the account becomes read-only until billing is resolved.

Acceptable use

• Use NovaLedger for lawful business bookkeeping only.
• Don't try to break into other users' accounts or overload our systems.
• You're responsible for the accuracy of the data you enter.

Prohibited activity — no copying, scraping, or reverse engineering

To protect the service and its users, you agree you will not:

• Reverse engineer — decompile, disassemble, or attempt to extract the source code, algorithms, or underlying ideas of NovaLedger Pro. Our client code is minified and obfuscated; defeating that obfuscation is a violation of this agreement.
• Scrape or harvest — use crawlers, bots, scrapers, or any automated means to extract data from the service, except through features we explicitly provide (such as your own CSV exports).
• Copy or clone — reproduce, duplicate, or create derivative works based on NovaLedger Pro's software, design, content, or data, in whole or in part.
• Competitive intelligence gathering — systematically collect our pricing, feature lists, product behavior, or service outputs for the purpose of building, improving, or marketing a competing product or service.
• Train competing models — use the service's outputs, recommendations, insights, or data to train, fine-tune, or develop machine-learning models or software that competes with NovaLedger Pro.
• Resell or redistribute — sell, rent, lease, sublicense, or redistribute access to the service, or resell, republish, or redistribute data obtained from NovaLedger (including purchased data packages) without our prior written consent.
• Circumvent protections — bypass, disable, remove, or interfere with any security, rate-limiting, watermarking, canary records, fingerprinting, encryption, license validation, or access-control features of the service. Our exports carry invisible per-purchase watermarks and tracer records; removing or altering them is a violation.
• Publish benchmarks — publish comparisons, benchmarks, or reviews of the service's performance without our prior written consent.

We actively monitor for scraping, automated extraction, feature fingerprinting, and abuse, and we log security events with account attribution. Violations may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account, forfeiture of any referral credits or partner commissions, and we reserve the right to pursue all available legal remedies, including injunctive relief — you agree that unauthorized copying or scraping causes irreparable harm that money damages alone cannot fix.

Intellectual property

NovaLedger Pro — including its software, design, text, graphics, logos, data compilations, and the "NovaLedger" name — is the exclusive property of Corwin Hendy (Hustle & Budget) and is protected by copyright and other intellectual-property laws. © 2026 NovaLedger Pro. All rights reserved.

Nothing in these terms transfers any ownership interest to you. Your subscription grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the service for your own business bookkeeping for the duration of your subscription. Exported copies of your own business data remain yours; everything else you access through the service remains ours.

Not professional advice

NovaLedger is software, not an accountant. Tax estimates, valuations, health scores, and tips are estimates for planning purposes only — not tax, legal, or financial advice. Always consult a qualified CPA, tax advisor, or attorney before making decisions based on anything in the app.

Your data

You own your data. We store it to run the service (see Privacy Policy). You can export it anytime and request deletion.

Limitation of liability

NovaLedger is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent allowed by law, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We're not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages — including decisions you make based on estimates in the app.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or abuse the service. If we terminate your account for cause, you lose access immediately. If you cancel, your data remains available in read-only mode unless you ask us to delete it.

Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes come with notice by email or in-app before they take effect. Continuing to use NovaLedger after changes means you accept them.
