Privacy Policy

NovaLedger Pro ("NovaLedger", "we") is a bookkeeping service for business owners, operated by Corwin Hendy (Hustle & Budget). This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and — just as important — what we never do with it.
What we collect
- Account information: your email address and an encrypted password when you sign up.
- Your business records: the transactions, invoices, inventory, payroll, and other financial data you enter or upload. This is the core of the service — we store it so the app can work.
- Bank data (only if you connect a bank): if you link a bank account through our banking partner (Plaid), we receive the account and transaction data you authorize. We never see or store your bank login credentials — those go directly to Plaid.
- Payment information: processed by Stripe. We store your subscription status and plan — never your full card number.
- Basic technical data: cookies needed to keep you logged in, plus standard server logs (IP address, browser type) for security and reliability.
How we use it
Your data is used only to run NovaLedger for you: showing your books, generating reports, answering your questions in Ask Nova, sending your daily briefing, and processing your subscription. That's it.
What we NEVER do
- We never sell your data to anyone.
- We never share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
- We never use your financial data to train models for other customers or run cross-customer analytics — unless you explicitly opt in to something like anonymous benchmarking in the future, and even then only in aggregated, non-identifiable form.
Data security
Passwords are encrypted with bcrypt. Sensitive tokens (bank connections, API keys) are encrypted at rest. All traffic runs over HTTPS. Access to production data is limited to the operator.
Your rights
- Access & export: your data is yours — export your books as CSV anytime from the Books view.
- Delete: email nova@novaledgerpro.com and we'll delete your account and all associated data.
- Disconnect: you can disconnect bank accounts anytime from Connections; we stop syncing immediately.
Cookies
We use one essential cookie to keep you logged in. No advertising cookies, no tracking pixels.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, we'll notify you by email or in the app before the change takes effect.
